Postulancy

he Postulancy is a religious institution during which time the Order evaluates the character and motives of the young man who desires to enter the Religious Life of the Gospels. It is a period of discovery of true Christian faith, especially in its existential aspects, of preparation in a particular way, for religious life in the Novitiate year , which is a time of strong experience of life as a vowed Religious.
The postulant, therefore, who is born to the demands of the culture of our time which is more and more secularized, who now asks to enter into the Order, is usually of a mature age, but who has not always received a Christian education, and is deficient in the knowledge of oneself, as well as his own internal and psychological emotions.
The Postulancy, understood as the integral formation of the person, tries to answer these problems, so that each person is able to more freely and responsibly answer the call of the Father.
To such an end, A House of Postulancy was founded in September 1978 in Assisi, within the Sacred Convent.. The young people who come here are guided in their search by responsible Friars that the Order chooses to guide the growth and maturation of the Postulants.
